Community

We are a community

Being baptized into Christ and celebrating the Eucharist together makes us a community. St. Paul wrote, "Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread." To say that we are one body" is to say that we share a common life.

We help each other when needs arise.
We use our spiritual gifts for the common good.
We rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep.

A prayer for the unity of God's people

O GOD, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, our only Saviour, the Prince of Peace; Deliver thy Church, we beseech thee, from all prejudice and contention, and whatsoever else may hinder us from godly union and concord; That, as there is but one body, and one Spirit, and one hope of our calling; one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism, one God and Father of us all, so we may be all of one heart and of one mind, united in one holy bond of truth and peace, of faith and love; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (from the REC Book of Common Prayer, p. 57)

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,
